Restcast is a planning tool for airline crew. It suggests when to sleep, wake, get light and stop caffeine around your roster. You stay in charge of your rest, your fitness for duty and your airline’s rules. Please read the full terms below.
1. Using Restcast
By downloading or using Restcast, you agree to these terms. Restcast is currently in testing, so features may change, break or be removed. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
2. Medical disclaimer
- Restcast gives general wellbeing guidance based on published body-clock and shift-work research. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
- It doesn’t replace your doctor, your aeromedical examiner or your airline’s fatigue management system. Talk to them before changing medication, using melatonin or other sleep aids, or if fatigue is affecting your health or your work.
- If you feel unfit for duty, follow your airline’s fatigue reporting procedures, whatever the app shows.
3. Your roster and your duties
- Restcast reads your roster from what you import. Always check the flights and times it shows against your official roster and crew systems. Your airline’s roster, notices and report times always take priority.
- Alarms and reminders depend on your phone’s settings, battery and notifications. Always keep your own backup alarm for duties.
- Restcast is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any airline.
4. Your data
How we handle your roster, Health data and account is explained in the privacy policy. In short: your roster and sleep data stay on your phone unless you choose to create an account for backup.
5. Fair use
Please don’t misuse the app, try to break its security, or copy and resell it. You keep the rights to your own data; we keep the rights to the app, its design and its name.
6. Liability
Restcast is provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will be error-free or always available. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for missed duties, lost sleep, or other losses that come from relying on the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law where you live that can’t be limited.
7. Changes
If these terms change, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app.
